Presentation and tour by Randolph Algera at St Clemens Church
On 30 November at 2pm, Randolph Algera will give a presentation and tour of the St Clemens Church in Nes. Algera, together with team Art-Decor, designed the entire interior of the church, a project that took several years to complete.
Algera talks fascinatingly about the whole redesign process - from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, including dozens of stained-glass windows in various techniques. One of the special places in the church is the serene Lady Chapel, where a 3D glass Mary takes centre stage.’
The design revolves around the ‘ebb and flow’ theme, which Algera used to bring Ameland into the church: the flora and fauna are indigenous, with one special exception... which you will discover during the tour.
With an eye for detail and a clear vision, Algera has given Ameland back a church and a work of art that the island can be proud of.
