Cultural-historical museum Sorgdrager
When you live isolated on an island for centuries, like the people from Ameland, a culture in its own right develops.
What that means and how the people from Ameland have lived together through the ages, you can discover in and around the Cultural Historical museum "Sorgdrager".
Experience the history of Ameland in the 'Sorgdragerhuuske', built in 1751, a commander's house built by Pieter Cornelis Sorgdrager. In the richly decorated style room, olden days come to life.
Furthermore, the beautiful collection of Ameland furniture in the attic of the little house, is definitely worth visiting.
In the holiday season there are tours at fixed data and times. A genuine Ameland expert takes you to the most special historical places of Hollum and tells stories.
The Cultural-historical museum Sorgdrager is wheelchair accessible.
