There are many musea on Ameland. Culture, history, maritime and a lighthouse. There is something for everybody.
An impressive appearance on the island is the lighthouse, built in 1880 of cast iron and 55 metres high.
In the Nature centre visitors spectacularly meet nature and Ameland's fascinating natural processes.

Rack mill 'De Verwachting' is on the place where the old corn mill 'De Verwachting' used to be from 1840 til 1949. The rack mill was rebuilt in 1988.
Corn and oil mill De “Phenix” is an old mill that still works perfectly, thanks to a thorough renovation.
Around 1913 in all four villages of Wadden island Ameland small fire hose houses appeared. These small houses served as a depot for fire hoses.

The Amelander Culture Museum, housed in the former Dutch Reformed Church in Nes, has a permanent exhibition on Ameland's religious heritage.
