The Ballumer Blinkert is an impressive dune on the narrowest part of Ameland, near the village of Ballum.
From the top, you will enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding dunes, the forest area and the Wadden Sea. On a clear day, you can even see the ferry sailing in the distance.
Historically, the Ballumer Blinkert was once higher. However, during World War II, the dune was lowered about five metres because of the construction of bunkers.

The Ballumer Blinkert can be reached on foot as well as by bicycle.
By car you can drive up to the car park at Strandpaviljoen Ballum or at the Ballumerbos.
From here it is about another 2 to 2.5 km walk to the Ballumer Blinkert.
